With the release of Leopard (the new Mac OS, for those non techy types) came a bunch of new features. One that I'm growing to like is the ability to read RSS feeds inside Mail.app. The only problem with using it this way is that it's not as easy to navigate as something like NetNewsWire. You have to manually click on specific feeds to read the particular articles instead of having a nice view of all unread articles. Well here is how to get back that control over your feeds.


First make a Smart Mailbox (I called mine Feeds). Next, match up these settings:

There's something funny about Apple Rumors. They spring to life seemingly from nowhere, causing a frothing of mouths from pomaceous fanboys and a rising of stock prices. There's something even funnier when you're well aware of the source of the rumor, and even more aware that the rumor was an off-handed sarcastic comment.


Such is the case with this latest iPhone rumor. What started as one of Merlin Mann's humorous comments on an episode of MacBreak Weekly a few months ago has generated no less than a page worth of posts on digg, and just won't seem to die. Even when there isn't a shred of validity to the rumor, it lives on like a corpse-devouring zombie. Well if truth were the corpse, and Paul McCartney was the zombie.

I guess in retrospect, it's not incredibly funny at all.

Upon loading up eBay this morning I noticed a strange message at the top:

At first I thought it was some sort of ad, but as I read it I became more perplexed.
Upgrade my browser? Did I miss something.. has Safari 4.0 come out?!

I clicked the grey button (the one that looks the part of an elderly gentleman who is slowly losing all control of his faculties), ready for the gleaming triumph of browsing I was sure to encounter.

What I got next was this:

Besides being iPhone day, today marks the release of iTunes 7.3. This new version has rectified a small issue I had when they introduced the CoverFlow: podcast support. Now it gracefully glides through my podcast album art as well as all my albums.


Thanks for listening Apple, you were only a little bit late with this one.
